The long-awaited sequel to the iconic film Gladiator is finally upon us. The first official trailer for Gladiator 2 has been released, giving fans a glimpse at the upcoming epic historical drama.

Details of the Film

Gladiator 2 is directed by Ridley Scott and is set 25 years after the events of the original film. The story follows Lucius, the son of Lucilla (played by Connie Nielsen) and nephew of the deceased Emperor Commodus (played by Joaquin Phoenix). Lucius seeks revenge against the Roman Empire for the death of his family.

The film will star Paul Mescal as Lucius, alongside a cast that includes Spencer Treat Clark, Ralph Ineson, and Djimon Hounsou. Gladiator 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on November 14, 2024, under the slightly altered title Gladiator II.
