Soto Extends Hitting Streak to 25 Games

Washington Nationals Outfielder Continues Historic Season

Juan Soto hit a home run in the first inning of the Washington Nationals' game against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday night, extending his hitting streak to 25 games. The homer came on a 1-2 count off Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara and traveled an estimated 430 feet to deep center field.

Soto's home run was his 39th of the season, moving him into a tie for third place in the National League. He is now just one home run behind Ronald Acuña Jr. of the Atlanta Braves and Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies.

Soto's hitting streak is the longest in the majors this season and the longest by a Nationals player since Ryan Zimmerman hit in 30 straight games in 2012. Soto is batting .333 with 98 RBIs and 122 walks this season.

The Nationals have won seven of their last 10 games and are now 63-64 on the season. They are 3.5 games behind the first-place New York Mets in the National League East.
