Greater Manchester to enjoy THREE DAYS of glorious 21C Autumn sunshine

Temperatures set to soar as Indian Summer hits UK

Manchester to bask in sunshine and warm temperatures for most of the week, Met Office says

Greater Manchester is set to enjoy three days of glorious sunshine this week, as an Indian Summer brings warm temperatures to the UK.

The Met Office is predicting highs of 21C in the region on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with plenty of sunshine and light winds.

The warm weather is expected to arrive on Tuesday, with temperatures reaching 19C in Greater Manchester.

Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week, with highs of 21C and plenty of sunshine.

Thursday and Friday will also be mostly sunny, with temperatures remaining in the high teens.

The Met Office said: "A plume of warm air from the south will bring a spell of warm weather to the UK this week."

"Temperatures will be well above average for the time of year, with highs of 21C or 22C possible in some parts of the country."

"The warm weather is expected to last for several days, with plenty of sunshine and light winds."

The Indian Summer is a period of warm, dry weather that often occurs in September and October.

It is caused by a change in the wind direction, which brings warm air from the south to the UK.

Indian Summers are not uncommon in the UK, but they are becoming more frequent due to climate change.

The warm weather is expected to draw people to parks, beaches and other outdoor spaces in Greater Manchester.

The Met Office is urging people to enjoy the sunshine, but to take precautions to stay safe in the heat.

These include drinking plenty of fluids, wearing sunscreen and seeking shade during the hottest part of the day.
